I graduated with a B.A. from Yale, where I studied English. When I wasn’t behind a computer in New Haven, I was likely behind a camera. I grew up hearing the shutter of my mom’s Canon DSLR through soccer games and holidays. When I left for college, she let me take the camera to Connecticut. I dabbled in digital photography classes before pursuing the School of Art’s analog photography sequence, during which I learned how to process film and create contact prints. Spontaneous photo shoots with friends developed into a steady practice across campus. I photographed formals, banquets, and campus groups for social media and website updates. During graduation season, undergraduate and graduate students hired me for portraits. I’m intrigued by the quiet moments in loud events and the candid smiles in staged photo shoots. When I’m home in Southern California, I take my Pentax 6x7 to the ocean. My care for the craft is rooted in a conviction that storytelling, both verbal and visual, inspires change.
Some of my work has landed in the Yale Daily News, the Yale Alumni Magazine, Claro Que Si, and the Sahan Journal. I am now based in Los Angeles, California.
